To our JJ fans,

Looking back, 2025 saw our first significant introductions in a few years, as our R&D program kicked into high gear. As a business, we also navigated the new normal of logistics nightmares as well as an economy that's been pushed hard by inflationary pressures. There are more plumerias on the market than ever before, and as the popularity of the plant has increased so has the level of competition. The good news this leads to more and even better varieties coming into the market.

One point that I would like to reinforce is, to paraphrase an old saying, Jungle Jack's Plumeria is not just about another pretty flower. We know that there are some beautiful flowers coming into the market, but to us a pretty flower is just not enough. Propensity to bloom, bloom quality, attractive growth habit plus vigor and rooting ability are all critical elements of our evaluation process.

For 2026 there will be one noticeable change. Our silver tag program has been a lot of fun for our fans and we have no intent to change that element of our business. However, it created a perception that anyone can run down to a Home Depot or Lowes and purchase silver tagged plants at will. That is not the case.

We have many varieties that are NEVER sent out to a big box or even our independent garden center customers. This category is now formalized with our new BLACK tag - these are varieties that are only available in limited quantities and only directly from Jungle Jacks, either at our physical location or via mail order. Our black tag varieties include some of our most unique and best flowers, including Karma, Obsession, Calypso and even Xaos, one of our 2025 introductions.

Beyond the black tags, we also bred another batch of top-notch 2026 introductions, with a continued focus on plumeria bloom, thrive and delight.

Thanks for your support and being the most important part of what we do.

Sincerely,

John Ingwersen

Somebody didn't get the memo because I saw two Obsessions at Home Depot last year and foolishly only bought one of them (with a black tag) ! I do appreciate the attention to plant form, size, branching, floriferousness, etc.

No plants were harmed on this website, but some electrons were terribly inconvenienced.
